Blooming Friday; Bromeliads;

Vriesea carinata happily clinging to this tree.

The same tree supports many plants, different Bromeliads, Ferns, and Orchids.

In winter many Bromeliads start to bloom and put on brilliant colours to offset their flowers.. One can just see a little of the flower emerge

This is a huge clump climbing up a tree, together with a native Hoya and the flat leafed Epiphillums.

These are pretty..nice variety. Our mosquitos enjoy them too..so does a new frog (Coqui) that's relatively new to the Big Island? A nursery actually got rid of some of there bromeliads due to the problem with them crawling in the center..but of course the breeding. They are really really loud to boot! I'm keeping mine but I don't have a nursery either. Have a great weekend and hope you enjoyed your 4th-

Beautiful, many of the plants you show are held as indoorplants here in Sweden.

For me, here in Sweden: what a strange flower. does it live on/of the tree?

How exotic to my scandinavian eyes. Bromeliads stays inside, yes, and Hoya as well, them I can watch all day long by my windowscreen. How nice it must be to see them "live".
I hope that what ever crawling isn,t snakes, ...
