Peruvian Morning Glory.I have searched far and wide but could not find this plant's Latin name. It grows into a weeping shrub, freely flowering most of the year. It is not invasive at all. Responds well to the occasional haircut!

Hello, I know the plant Morning Glory by the latin name Ipomoea nil. But here is more.. -Cheers Gisela.
Morning glory is a common name for over 1,000 species The Convolvulaceae, the bindweed or morning glory family, is a group of about 60 genera and more than 1,650 species.
The genus Ipomoea, with over 500 species, is the largest genus in the family Convolvulaceae.... Merremia Rivea corymbosa, is a species of morning glory plants, native throughout Latin America from Mexico in the North to Peru.
Your plant should be more well-known, if it flowers so freely, and has no bad habits! If it is a shrub, then it is not the usual morning glory, which is an annual, but it could well be related. The flowers are similar!
I have the same plant and I just looked the name up in my gardening encyclopaedia and I am sure it is a 'Solanum rantonnettii'. The morning glory is usually a bigger flower and very invasive. There are a few different colours you can get - I used to have a blue but that died and the one surviving is purple. Hope this helps you.
