Ouroboros; Curiosities;

Throughout its history Mankind has always been prone to the fallacy of believing in anything;

The Ouroboros  is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail. The name originates from within Greek language;  oura meaning "tail" and boros meaning "eating", thus "he who eats his tail.

It has been represented throughout antiquity and  mankinds history.

Ouroboros on the flag of Gabriele d'Annunzio's short-lived Italian Regency of Carnaro at the city of Fiume (now Rijeka, Croatia)

The ouroboros is displayed on numerous Masonic seals, frontispieces and other imagery.

Phytagorean Pentacle
Pythagorean thought was dominated by mathematics, and it was profoundly mystical

It is in the nature of man to be eaten by greed. From ancient times the Ouroboros has made its way from the Phoenicians to the Greeks, to the Romans to the different Chinese dynasties, these are only a few  from many who have chased  the Ouroboros and in the end have eaten up themselves. Empires come and go as they are linked impenetrably to greed, decadence, lawlessness in the highest echelons of  the leaders. Always the chase for More,  more fortune, more wars to enrich themselves until the snake devours herself and it all starts again.

Titania, something new again! I have never come across this/the Ouroboros before. Now I know and am amazed by how imaginative/advance human beings can be at that time (ancient).
